I used to live out in Sacramento. There is a brewery out there in Downtown called "Brew it Up" I'm sure you have heard of it. If not, this is a place you can go to brew beer. They have all the ingredients, equipment, and know how to get the process done. My first brew was brewed there. I would suggest going there to brew few times. It really gives you good knowledge about how the brewing process works. The Brew masters are always standing on hand for any questions. My Brother-in-Law goes there many times a year to brew. At an average of $150 for a 12 gal pot. Not too shaby for not buying any equipment. So if your wife has a hard time dealing with al the brewing equipment, this could be your outlet. Plus, they clean and sanitize everything for you!! Definatly worth the extra coin if you ask me...
