Yow!

Is that white plastic keg with a red top, like a Hambledon Bard or King
Keg one? Assuming it is . . .

Firstly, if it is, the CO2 bottle should be applied for no more than one
second. If you haven't already blown up your keg, I guess you know this
by now.

This type of keg is notoriously hard to get a seal on. You need to coat
the o-ring with vaseline in pornographic proportions and tighten the cap
with a cap spanner or _really_ strong hands.

Your priming sugar will give you enough carbonation to serve about half
a gallon of beer. Thereafter you will need to gas up with 1 second
bursts of CO2 from the bottle. Do not be tempted to leave the bottle
screwed onto the valve, even part way, or it will make you sorry, one
way or another.

If its not that type of keg, ignore what I just said.
