bleach sanitizing

What is the ratio of bleach to water in making up a quick and dirty
sanitizing solution?

1tbsp/gal is really overkill - so measure and don't over do it. Use
the table spoon per gallon ratio, It is harder to err on the weak
side - and 1/2 tbs / gal is still more than enough.

Shouldn't that be a 1/2 teaspoon?

I agree. 1/2 tsp is plenty. Just make sure you give it 15-30 minutes
contact time with whatever you're sanitizing. Also, since chlorine
evaporates with heat, it's best to make the solution with cold water,
then rinse with hot.
