Aussie Brewers

A little of topic I know , but I did not know where to turn,, I brew my own beer and
put it in A Tooheys 50 lt Keg (as in the pubs) There is a square "O" rin in sealing
tap which has deterated over time , and I need a new one(s) An ordinary round O ring
only lasts one reseal , .I wonder if any other Aussie home brewer has encounted this
problem
of how to or what to replace seal with. I would like to hear from other brewers,
The other alternitive is use Tooths Kegs, I suppose
Sorry to have taken your time.

Wagga is fine thanks. They have done more to the main street, divided sections and
changed the parking , ect.

I heard they divided it totally into two. Which half do you live in, Wagga
or Wagga?

Re: Aussie Brewers

you got ripped off sluggo you can buy a tap new from mel for about $70 or
reconditioned from downey albar ( I forget their new name as I live in the
US now) for about $50 and mel also sells the new kegs and I think the
country brewer in bathhurst has post mix kegs for sale
you can use the tap you just need the fittings which are relatively cheap

Ask your local homebrew shop or give Eastern Suburbs Brewmaker a call. They
should know something about who to contact. 02 9584 3372

Re: Aussie Brewers

you cant find the seals for these kegs as the breweries have control over
them and a 50 liter keg is still the property of the brewery unless you
brought it new from a Shafer (the manufacture ) reseller I know of only one
in Sydney that sells small quantities and them the minimum you can buy is
about 10 .its almost impossible to find parts for Shafer kegs .

Well, the only distributor for Schafer that I know of can be found at
http://www.kegsystems.com/

If the OP's keg is a schafer, then these guys might be able to help him
out. Just send them an e-mail or phone them up -- can't hurt to ask. They
were friendly enough when I contacted them about postmix gear.
