Okey dokey.

Firstly, lose the animated background. Makes me wanna kill somebody.

Secondly, your prices are okay (about average), but your selection is
miniscule. Do you plan to add more items later (equipment or books, esp.)?
Why the two-pound bags of grain? Do you sell larger or smaller quantities
(outside the recipe kits, that is)? Are you able to crush grain? Some
shipping costs/types/info would also be nice.

Who's your target audience? Novice brewers? Some brewing info (obviously)
be helpful, or at least links to sites that provide it.

And one last piece of advice--if you plan to spam newsgroups to advertise
your store, it's polite to at least hang around for a while and chat
beforehand. Folks are more likely to actually visit your site if you're not
just some anonymous stranger trying to sell them something.

Re: New Home Brew Store

Thanks for the 2 cents. I appreciate it. I've been out of town for a few
days,so I haven't checked the groups, but let me address your points:

Animated background- I can relate to this point. I would agree in gener
al that an animated background is a bad idea, but I just couldn't live wi
th flat beer! Most of the people I've talked to, who've seen it, seemed
to like the bubbles. Perhaps a reduction in the bubble density would be good.

Price/selection - You are right about the selection, and that is the n
umber one poriority as the store grows. Unufortunately, we are just small ti
me at this point. Once we have grown a little, the selection will imp
rove. Ultimately we'd like to have the best selection and the best pric
es. I doubt we will ever carry books, but we have put links to some good
home brewing books at Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.

Target audience: Anyone who loves home brewing. At this point, we have
instructions for the novice, making that first brew, and a beer calculator.
Plus there is a forum, for discussions on brewing topics. I'd like to add
intermediate and advanced brewing tips as well.

Always glad to chat with anyone in the home brewing groups. Mostly, I tend
to read posts (never learned anything by opening my mouth), but if anyone
addresses me particularly, I'm glad to chat.

Thanks !
