Flavorfull & Clean?

Hi All,
I'm looking for a beer to make that's a good everyday drink. I want a beer
that has a good beer flavor but without the bitter after-taste. My last
batch was an American Pilsner. It's OK but still a little too bitter. Anyone
know of any good recipes or techniques? Thanks -

BUBBA

Two issues:

1) You might have hard water, which can lead to bitterness. Try using
distilled water for the cleanest taste.
2) You might have used too much hops. Be sure to use unhopped malt extract,
and add barely any hops (like 1/4 to 1/2 ounce for a 5 gallon batch) if you
don't like bitterness. It depends on the type of hops you use, also. Try
Saaz for your pilsner if it is available.

Try a wheat beer. You can find lots of good recipes on line or in books.

Here's a recipie I like:

Sunny Beach-Summer Ale

1 lb. Crystal grains, 10L
5 1/2 lbs. Light malt extract
4 oz. Malto-dextrin
1 oz. Cascade hops, (boiling)
1 tablet Irish Moss
1/2 oz. Willamette hops, (aroma)
4 oz. corn sugar, for bottling

Recommended yeasts options;
Dry: Doric Ale
Liquid: Wyeast #1056, American

This should all be available at your local brew shop.
Steep the grains in 3 gallons of water at 150 degrees for about 20 minutes.
Remove grains, bring liquid to boil, add malts and boiling hops. Boil for
40 minutes, and add irish moss. Continue boiling for 20 more minutes and
add the aroma hops. Boil for 3 more minutes then cool wort. Put in
fermenting container and add water to make 5 gallons total. Pitch yeast at
70 to 75 degrees. Makes a delicious, golden ale.
Cheers!
