Posts: n/a
temperature for fermentation

Unlike many homebrewers who live in the cold of the north, I'm a
florida homebrewer. In all the recipies I've seen, the reccommended
temperatures for fermenting the wort range from the upper 60's to
lower 70's. I've been brewing for about two years now, and my wort
usually ferments at temperatures that sometimes reach the mid 80's.
Is this a problem? Does it affect the tast of the beer? I think my
batches have all been pretty good, but I sometimes wonder if they
could be even better if the temps were lower. If so, what would be a
remedy for the situation, other than cranking up the air conditioning
or buying another refrigerator?

Thanks for any comments,
Ryan
