| | | | I need help on finding Labels....Bottles stored in Freezer, label needs to withstand moisture. I have a friend who makes homemade Lemoncello and gives out the
bottles to his family and friends around the holidays. This type of
liquor is kept in the freezer. So I need labels that can stand up to
getting wet. Last year he used some normal paper type label and the
colors ran once it got wet. So I assume he needs some kind of
laminated labels. He has an ink jet printer, Canon i950. I would
really appreciate any recommendations you have.
He is also looking to put a small picture on the label. Which I
should be able to do easily with Photoshop. |

is supposed to be water resistant no matter what paper you print on. There
are also waterproof papers you can get for any inkjet printer. These are
found through Hiking and Backpacking stores. I have used these papers for
maps, and they have withstood a bit of rain. I am not sure what type of
moisture would build on them in a freezer though.

got damp. My new HP PSC 2100 will not bleed even on plain paper. And I mean
the printouts can withstand a full soaking in water overnight. I'm not sure
which new HP's have the same ink but mine uses HP 56 and 57 cartridges if
that helps you.

| | | | Re: I need help on finding Labels....Bottles stored in Freezer, label needs to withstand moisture. I use a Canon S900 which is basically the previous version of the i950. I
print labels on paper all the time and they rarely if ever run even when
soaked in water. For top quality labels though he shouldn't be printing on
just regular ol' copy paper. Get a pack of paper for high resolution
printing. It is coated on the print side so it is less absorbent and the
smooth finish makes graphics and lettering really sharp. My personal
preference is for Epson Photo Quality Ink Jet Paper. (It goes on sale
regularly at places like Office Depot) It used to be called something like
high resolution paper for 720dpi printing. It isn't expensive compared to
real photo paper and isn't as thick so it is perfect for labels.

Sounds cool. Are they expensive?

Actually, if the freezer is well sealed it should actually be quite a dry
environment. The main problem would come when you take the bottle out to
pour, and it gets condensation all over it. |

Actually that is exactly the problem. After you take the bottles in
and out a few times, the labels start looking really awful. I was
hoping to find something at a local store (like staples or CompUSA). |

available

adhesive vinyl paper probably really great for labels 47.00 for ten sheets!
Some aren't:
here is the stuff i have used http://www.rippedsheets.com/inkjet/100771.html
this looks cool too:
