UNFLAVORED gelatin is added to aid clearing. It clears the beer in 3-5 days
but just letting it set 2-4 weeks clears it also.

process for adding the gelatin?

Just mix 1/4 to 1/2 packet of gelatin with a small amount (enough to get a
liquid) of warm water (boiled water if well or questionable municipal water
supply) and pour into your finished beer. I've never stirred but you can if
you want. In a few days you'll be amazed at how clear your beer is. After
all the sediment has dropped to the bottom (beer is clear) you can then rack
to your bottling bucket.
