This is the first I have seen like this. Do they always end in something
wierd like .scr?

scr , .exe , .bat , .com , .pif , .lnk , .btm , .cmd .

Beware of office extensions like .doc and .xls due to macros. Beware of the
trick of "readthis.htm
..exe"
This looks safe in some mail readers due to the spaces going past the
display and hiding the .exe bit. Basically, who wants to open an attachment
from a newsgroup? Especially an off topic cross post like this one?
