Reconditioned Kegs? Any good?

I was just looking over Midwest Homebrewing website, and saw that they have
reconditioned kegs for $27 each, compared to $90 new. They say. . .

"Product Description:
5 Gallon Reconditioned Cornelius Keg: We clean each keg and replace
all the gaskets, then pressure test them to ensure they will not leak."

So, can anyone tell me why I would buy a brand new keg instead, when I
can get three for the price of one? Thanks in advance,

Jeff

No reason. Go for it. I have three used ones myself.

Re: Reconditioned Kegs? Any good?

Damn, that's a hell of a deal at $13 each. I actually placed an order
today for one. Shipping was only $7 via UPS Ground. I'm going to slowly
build up a kegging system, as opposed to buying everything at once.
Just a piece each month. Do most corny kegs come with dip tubes? I know
a place that sells full 5 lb CO2 tanks for $60. Seems like a great deal
as well.

All kegs should come complete with dip tube and all neccesary attachments that are on a corny keg. If for some reason they dont I would send them back or ask the company to send you one. If they dont spread the word.

Make sure when you buy the tank you have a place to fill it, and dont spend the money on a nice stainless one unless the CO2 dealer has an onsight filling station. I have to trade mine in each time for a different tank(no onsite filling here) SOme places do it, others dont, and you might end up never seing your shiny new stainless tank again, as for trade in companies rotate them to other customers.
