Pumpkin Ale

I have recently brewed a pumpkin ale... but after 2 days, there was a noticeable difference in the ammount of gas escaping through the airlock. This morning, it has dropped out to almost nothing. Should I rack to secondary??? I used dried ale yeast that i kickstarted with warm water. Any ideas??

Re: Pumkin Ale

Depending on the amount of fermentables in your beer, two days may be all that was needed to get the job done. Adding dry yeast won't hurt, but may not help either. Try gentlymoving your fermenter around to stir up the yeasties a bit. Of course, the true way to know if it is done fermenting is to take a gravity reading. I'd let it sit a few more days then rack to secondary. I did a Pumpkin Ale a little over a week ago that I will be racking to secondary tomorrow morning.

Cheers
