No activity in primary

Hello all:

This is my first post. I have been having a great time reading the boards for the past month or so. My father and I started brewing early in the summer. We are on our 4th brew and have had some remarkable success doing partial extract brews. Wimpy's Christmas Cheer (re: ales) is the choice for this brew. We cooked Saturday (3 days ago) and it went very well. Nothing out of the ordinary. Except we have not had any activity in the primary. We used a wet British yeast (our local brew shop did not have dried European yeast). As I said, there was nothing out of the ordinary in cooking and pitching. Temps were fine, timing was great. We shook the primary last night to move the sediment around yesterday evening. And still no activity. Is there any suggestions to initiate something here? Should we add another culture? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot,
Michael

When I made a pumpkin ale I had a real slow start. I added mollasses and honey. The complex sugars took longer to break down. Best beer I ever had a week after bottling.
