I noticed a white film floating on top of my chocolate stout. I opened on to see if I could smell anything wrong with it and when I did, the white film disappeared! It didn't really have an off odor, not sure about the taste, I am kind of leary about it right now.
It almost certainly is an anaerobic infection of some kind. I'm sure some clever bod here will name it for you. Probably came in at bottling or late fermentation.(Treat eveything to a chlorine bleach solution to make sure you've got rid of it)
I have had it once, coincidently with stout. If you carefully tip the unopened bottle to the side you will notice it folds up like an ultra thin paper skin on top of the beer.
My local small brewery guy could detect it in the taste but I couldn't so I drank it all. I am still here to tell the tale.
You will probably find it affects the head creation more than the taste. Especially in a full bodied brew like stout.
