bottling?

I've just bought a irish stout kit. It all seems fairly straight forward, but i was wondering if its ok to use sterilised pop bottles to store it in when its finished or will they explode or somthing?

I have used 2 liter pop bottles, they are designed to take pressure. Avoid bottles that contained rootbeer or something that might have a residual affect on the beer. Diet cola is a good choice. Good luck.

You can use plastic bottles, but your beer will go bad/flat in them faster than in glass bottles. However this won't be a problem if you are planning on drinking you beer in a few month's time.

Just like gm69camaro said, use only bottles that are designed to hold pressure. These shouldn't explode unless you overcarbonate your beer in some way, and in this case glass bottles would explode as well. But if I had the choice, I would rather be near an exploding plastic bottle than an exploding glass bottle

So good luck and welcome to the hobby. Be patient, don't bottle too soon and your (first?) beer should turn out ok.
