Hi, I figured I would introduce myself.

Born in germany 1971, 6 years in the german navy, met my wife on aol , moved to the US in 1997 became a citizen 2004. Work for Big Blue....

I am brewing since August 2005 so not for a long time. so far I made Oktoberfest, irish red ale,Double IPA, Holiday Ale, 6 male Pumpkin Ale and a Weizenbock . Currently I have 2 IPA's in the secondaries, different recipes. I just put my order in to make a "deep shaft Stout" and and a English Bitter.

I am big into hops... the hoppier the better.

well thats it.. if you have questions just ask......

Hi and welcome to the hobby and the forums.

Ok, so that's six months and eight brews, either you drink a lot of you have a
huge reserves... Man I'm jealous

Now that I think of it, I've never introduced myself, so here goes.

I was born in 1982 and have been brewing since winter 2004. I live with a
girlifriend and a dachschund in Oulu in northern Finland. I study maths in the
university and should graduate in spring 2007.

I make only extract brews since I don't have the equipment nor the access to
ingredients for all-grain brews. I'm also quite a novice when it comes to beer
drinking in general, but I've been trying to taste as many different beer styles
as possible. Currently my favourite store-bought beers have been the belgian
Trappist ales and Sinebrychoff Kaura (a finnish lager beer with oats and
honey).

I just bottled a batch of Cooper's Sparkling Ale and I'm planning on making an
Imperial Stout of some sort with a friend. We'll probably make it from Cooper's
Stout extract with added malt and possibly some brown sugar, but that
remains to be seen.

How do you get your recipes ? DO you make em from scratch or do you have a base recipe and modify it to your needs.

I get my recipes mostly from the zymurgy magazin or from a recipe book that I bought. after I found a base recipe I like I bastardize it ( never mind that most of the time you cant find the grains they want anyway )

Do you keep track of your brews ? I started keeping a journal of when I bought, what grains ( including brand ) what hops and all that . This year i also started keeping the recipes I tried online. Maybe the admin here can add it here so that we can share recipes and reviews.

I have mine @ http://www.num1kitten.com/homebrew/

Feel free to try one of my recipes if you like ( so far I have only put the 2 IPS from 2006 on it )
The nice thing ist that you can keep track of your batches and see when its time to rack, bottle and drink....

the script is called cyberbrau and can be downloaded @ hotscripts.com
