Howdy from Texas!

Hey y'all,

What an interesting forum!

I gotta tell ya... I've always been afraid of beer! You know... carbs.... carbs... carbs... lol Maybe here I can learn if there's a beer out there that is kinder on the waist!

Thanks for having me!

Lyte

Welcome to the forum PC101. Beer is fine on the waistline. It’s all the other things that you do to your body while enjoying your beer that's so detrimental to your body, i.e. chips, pizza, and sitting.

I think you will find that homebrew is better in many ways , one is that you don't have to drink 12 to get satisfied , that is my opinion anyway.
I usually drink only one or two a day. but they are so good that once in awhile I lose track of the count so to speak.

Beer is good for you. They say a dark beer is like having a glass of wine. Most light beers only save you about 20-50 calories per bottle. Some light beers are worse in calories then regular beers. A good bear thats low in calories and carbs is New Belgium Skinny Dip.

Also if you brew your own, they say that if you put some Beno into it during the primary phase it brings down the calories. As a side effect, it can raise the ABV too. I've never tested this though.
