Greeting fellow maltose addicts...

The board says I need 5 post to get other stuff so heres #1.

In college I had a buddy that had all there buckets in his bathroom and he always had this really strong beer that would knock you down at 6, he said he made it himself and I figured I'd like to try that someday......

11 years later my sister and her German national fiancee gave me the $79 starter kit from Niagara in Buffalo for christmas last year and it sat in my kitchen for 2 months until my mother told me that they had to get married or he would lose his visa and I figured I was morally obligated to present my new brother-in-law with the very first of my beers. A can of hopped amber malt extract and 2 # of amber DME and I followed all instructions and, was blown away how good it was. That was March. I have totally blown my legal limit of 100 gallons in September. Have made 3 stouts (1 w/ cocoa powder) 2 brown ales, 1 scotch ale ,1 weisenbock, 1 wheat beer with black current juice, 2 english bitters, 1 Orange Amber (an amber with Orange peel and honey) 2 "belgians of unknown origin" 1 Bine Veer (I don't know how this will turn out, it was made with 7# grapes from my arbor, it was good when I racked it off the primary) and my favorite, 6 I.P.A. s
I hold 98% of a b.s. in biochemisty and if I am not gonna finish that, I want to do this for a living that's for sure. I am all in, hook, line. sinker, pole, reel, boat, lake etc... What I do not have is extra $$$. I have discovered I need a better pot, a wort chiller, and a 5 bbl sculpture So anyway... Hi.
