I'm a new brewer , well 1 year which is new when you see what this home brewing is all about. BierNewbie put me onto this site as I posted a question on another site. " how can I improve the head retension on my beers". I hav'nt done any fancy brewing yet just coopers & brewizer extracts most of the Pilsners and Lagers seem ok, but the ales and more malty ones have plenty of action but dont hold the head. Any help appreciated.
If they are no-boil kits, not much you can do (they do sell heading agents at homebrew shops). If you are doing all-grain or partial extract then add 6 oz. flaked oats to your specialty grains on a 5 gallon batch. Will do wonders.
