Priming Sugars

Hello Homebrewers,
I'm new to the website and this is my first post. I started brewing in Feb. and I now have 6 brews under the belt ( 3 literally).
I've run out of corn sugar and I'm low on DME.
Wondering if anyone has ever used confectionary sugar for priming and what the ratio would be.

Beer40.

Just add directly to the bottle for white table sugar:

12oz: ¾ teaspoon
16oz: 1 teaspoon
20oz: 1¼ teaspoon
22oz: 1½ teaspoon
1 liter/quart: 2½ teaspoons
2 liter: 1½ TABLEspoons
3 liter: 2¼ TABLEspoons

note the difference between a teaspoon and tablespoon.

Ummmm .. you should convert your sugars before you do that. Unless you like overly sweet beer that gives you a headache.

what ever you do, DO NOT use confectionary sugar... they add cornstarch to keep the sugar from clumping and based on brand, the ratio is different... if you have to, use regular table sugar, just use 1/2 cup in place of the corn sugar, into a 5 gallon batch...
