Basil Falling

I tied my basil up in bunches to dry. Naturally as it dries, the stems get smaller and the basil falls out of the loop, so I have to tie it again. Have you found a way around this issue?
I use rubber bands to tie mine up with and I do large bunches at a time. As the basil dries, the rubber bands get tighter and don't allow the dried basil to fall out. Give it a try. It works.

I used rubber bands, too, using a hint I read somewhere or other. So far, my basil has held up pretty well. We prefer it frozen in ice cubes, but the dried is useful in many recipes.
