Has anyone canned applesauce?

I just made a large batch of applesauce and if possible would like to jar some of it for later. Has anyone done this? Would it be enough to just seal the jars in a hot bath to make it shelf stable, or should I still refrigerate the finished jars? Do you know how long it would keep?

We have never done this but I know you can do it, a friend's mother would do this and we used to help her after school years ago. As long as you seal them well they should keep but I am not sure how long, we always went through them pretty quick or the mother would donate them to the school functions.

I wasn't sure what to do so I sealed them in a hot bath and after they cooled I stuck them in the refrigerator for storage. We'll go through them within the next few weeks, I suppose.
