I know spring is in the air but I'm already thinking about fall and all the great apples in my part of the country. Just googled how to make apple cider and found this recipe which seems very simple. Anyone have any advice on making apple cider?
The recipe on the page is a good straight forward one. It is basicaly how i brew my cider. I use 5-10 gallons of fresh pressed apple cider, 2 lb of dark brown sugar, 1-2 packs of Red Star champange yeast. I will do a primary fermentation and a secondary fermentation and in the secondary fermentation i will boil 2 T of mulling spices in about 2 cups of water and add it to the secondary. This will add a nice spicey sweet taste to the cider.. drink it with or without carbination.
