Is the Yeast Good?


Is there any way to tell if you have a bad batch of yeast before you actually use it? I've had a run of bad luck with yeast lately and until my dough doesn't rise, I have no idea.
I think that is really the only way to tell. I have had this same problem, but the yeast was older so this was my issue. You may want to check your expiration date or play around with your water temperatures some because the finicky bugger is easy to kill off as well!
