Sauces and MSG


Does anyone besides me find that most restaurants use MSG in their sauces to enhance the flavor? I have recently become highly sensitive to MSG and end up with a migraine every time I eat it. Even when asked, the waitress always says there is no MSG in their foods. How do you handle this? We have really cut down on eating out just because of this.


The server may not even be aware of the MSG in the sauce, but that is poor training. If they don't know, they need to ask! I would discuss this with the managers at restaurants you've been to. Unfortunately, however, sensitivities do make it more difficult to eat out in general.
